CACEIS has enabled the first tokenized French UCITS money-market fund on Ethereum’s public blockchain, marking a significant innovation in Europe’s financial landscape. This milestone was achieved in collaboration with Spiko, a French fintech specializing in blockchain fund unit tokenization, and Twenty First Capital, manager of the Spiko SICAV fund.

The initiative allows clients to subscribe to money-market fund units natively issued and delivered on the blockchain, using secure wallets provided by CACEIS. As custodian, CACEIS ensures the security of these tokenized assets. This marks a turning point for fund distribution and custody in Europe, creating a framework for regulated, secure tokenized financial instruments.

Future plans include integrating stablecoins and tokenized deposits for subscription payments and redemptions, with potential long-term use of central bank digital currencies. This innovation is seen as a key step in the evolution of digital asset investment in Europe.
