Morocco advances digitalization; Thai firm trials blockchain
Morocco has committed over $1 billion to AI and blockchain as part of its Digital Morocco 2030 strategy, aiming to boost the country’s digital economy, create 240,000 jobs, and increase digital export revenues to $4.2 billion by 2030. The initiative includes significant investments in education and regulations to promote blockchain applications in both private and public sectors, with plans to enhance public services using AI and blockchain technologies.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, Bunge Global SA and CP Foods are piloting blockchain technology to trace deforestation-free soybeans from Brazil to Thailand. This blockchain integration ensures traceability and transparency, providing consumers with detailed information about sustainability, including carbon footprints and agricultural practices. This reflects growing consumer demand for sustainable food products, with blockchain emerging as a key tool for ensuring ethical sourcing in the supply chain.
