TON blockchain validators prepare for Hamster Kombat coin minting

The Open Network (TON) blockchain has alerted its validators to prepare for a significant increase in demand as the Web3 game Hamster Kombat ramps up its user base and begins minting its HMSTR tokens.
In a message posted on Sept. 25 in a Telegram channel dedicated to TON validators, developers, and integrators, the blockchain advised that validators should be ready for a surge in bandwidth demand as millions of users are expected to join the platform. The message emphasized the need for validators to maintain high availability to support the influx of users minting Hamster Kombat tokens.
To manage the upcoming load, TON validators have been asked to closely monitor their systems and participate in real-time support efforts from Sept. 26 to 29, with urgent issues requiring resolution within one hour when prompted.
Hamster Kombat, which is hosted on Telegram, boasts an impressive 100 million monthly active users and claims to have onboarded 200 million users in just three months. The game is positioning itself as a major player in the Web3 gaming space, even surpassing the growth rates of popular apps like Pokémon GO and Meta’s Threads.
The game’s team also announced a detailed roadmap for Q4 2024 and early 2025, including plans to integrate external payment systems, launch new games, and incorporate NFTs as in-game assets. Additionally, Hamster Kombat has taken steps to maintain fairness by banning 2.3 million users for cheating.
With its rapid growth and expanding features, Hamster Kombat is drawing attention as a potential game-changer in the play-to-earn space, with experts like Sébastien Borget, co-founder of The Sandbox metaverse, commenting on the game’s transformative impact on the industry.
